Fire and Ice: who’s hot and who’s not – 10/25/11

On Fire:

Tim Tebow - Everyone is talking about Tim Tebow in one aspect or another. But mainly for the amazing come from behind victory he led the Broncos to this past Sunday. Say what you want about Tebow, but the guy keeps things exciting.

Stanford Cardinal - They are still unbeaten and still have the top player in College football in Andrew Luck. The Cardinal have blown out everyone they’ve faced and they look to continue their hot streak this weekend against USC.

Pittsburgh Steelers - The Steelers have won four straight and seem to be back on track after stumbling early in the season. Ben Roethlisberger is playing at a very high level and is leading the charge. If the Steelers can beat the Patriots this Sunday, then Superbowl talk will be on again in Pittsburgh.

Ice Cold:

Detroit Lions: In two short weeks the Detroit Lions have gone from being the team of destiny to a team of desperation. Two straight losses have brought a dose of reality to the Lions and now Matthew Stafford has been injured. The Lions playoff hopes hinge on Stafford staying healthy.

Georgia Tech - Here is another team who has seen a reversal of fortune in two short weeks. Georgia Tech has gone from being touted as a possible National Championship contender to being in trouble of not even winning their division in the ACC after two consecutive losses. And things might get worse with Clemson up next.

Tim Tebow - Yes, as hot as Tim Tebow is right now, he was just as cold for almost the entire game against the Dolphins. Tebow will need to work on his consistency, but something tells me there will be much more fire and ice in Tim Tebow’s future with his incredible flare for the dramatic.
