Strange things are happening in the NBA at present , records are somewhat deceptive because I believe there so many bad and average teams , that it sullies the picture overall ! And defensively , even the Heat have their problems giving up 96.8 points per game .

  Your right, it seems like nobody except the Bulls is playing defense in the NBA right now. There’s a lot of “matador” defense in the going on across the league.

    Thibodeau has always emphasized defense as part of team strategy , and you can see that with the Bulls , even in points differential .

      I remember in the NBA when they would put you on the floor if you even thought about going to the basket. There really aren’t any great shot blockers any more either, or intimidators to protect the basket. I guess it’s no longer in vogue in the NBA.

        I think it’s the street ball, playground mentality that the game has evolved to. Players are working harder on practicing dunks and alley oop passes than they are on defensive fundamentals.

        The Warriors are one of the worst defensive teams in the West (giving up 100.7 ppg ) and definitely are up there in terms of the entire league !

        You’re right, the Warriors seem to have the offensive side of things down, but defensively they need some work.

I’ve no problem up to a point with highlight reel dunks just as long as it’s part of a competitive game ! The idiocy with regard to the NBA , it has now become a watered down diluted product , where a number of its stars now possess about as much character of inanimate object .

And with the upcoming NBA All Star Game , what really , is going to be on tap there to really entertain the fans , other than a pregnant Kim Kardashian parading ” her booty “ around , as part of Jay Z’s and Beyonce’s entourage , as the rapper and co owner of the Nets seeks to watch the Nets’ players who’ll make up part of the East’s All Star roster ?

The Warriors’ head coach , Mark Jackson , what was he trying to suggest after his team’s humiliating 140-109 loss to the Rockets ? His being old school , in terms of being a coach is a joke ! The Warriors play no defense , and Jackson , himself , was never that great a defensive player to begin with !

  The NBA makes a bigger deal of the All-Star game than the NBA Finals. That’s one thing they need to change. Make the Finals a Final Four and dump the series format.

The NBA this season , the play has been woefully inept on both side of the …. ball and it’s somewhat reminiscent of years’ past .

As to the Warriors they’re simply a team on the rise , but I doubt that they will do anything worthwhile , in terms of a deep run in the playoffs !

In terms of the NBA All Star Game and the festivities , I find it all to be a monstrous bore ! If the league hierarchy really wants to make it of heightened interest , then why not make the game a real incentive for the teams in terms something meaningful as it relates to the playoffs ? Perhaps adopting a similar strategy along the lines of baseball ? Your thoughts ?
